Dear Ms/Mrs Hallworth

Much greetings to you and all the entire staff and students of Clifton College hoping that you are all faring on well after the Christmas holidays. For me and my brother we are all pushing on well except for on-going violence that’s spreading all over Kenya.

I would very much like to take this opportunity to write back and thank you all very much for your wonderful letter and your acceptance to sponsor me and get through with my education. I am grateful for your wonderful donation of £350 toward my education and up-keep. My God bless you all for your good deeds.

I was also glad to hear from some of the students and also loved the picture that they sent with the letter and I welcome them to our country. For me and my brothers we’ve been under the care of Mr Button, who has been helping us with assistance from schools in UK. We live in a hostel with boys also whom some have got sponsors and going to school. In our little hostel we get accommodation, food and clothing but it’s really hard if you don’t have sponsors. In our family we are five boys, I am the third born, my big brother Julius Obala is in Mombasa Technical Training Institute doing a course of welding and fabrication. Our second born is David Onyango Obala, fourth is Emmanuel Owino and our last born is Robert Otieno Obala.

I am going to enclose a photo of me and my brothers so that you all can get to know our appearances. I will be sending you my reports every term after we close so that you can monitor the way I am progressing.

I would also like to hear more from the students and know about your schools. As soon as I join my new school I will be sending some photos of my school.

I don’t have much to say for now but to wish you all the best at school and pass my regards to the students.
